Congratulations, 2021 Scholarship Winners!

Each year, Homebase Credit Union awards scholarships to four graduating seniors within our membership. Qualified students submit applications and are judged anonymously on academic merit, personal achievements, demonstrated leadership experience, extra-curricular involvement and/or work experience. We congratulate each of our 2021 winners on this outstanding achievement.

Lisa Parker, $2,500 Scholarship Recipient
A graduate of Prince George High School, Miss Parker plans to attend Christopher Newport University and major in Education.

Kaitlyn Barker, $1,000 Scholarship Recipient
A graduate of Prince George High School, Miss Barker plans to major in Elementary Education at Randolph-Macon College.

Janay Beechaum, $1,000 Scholarship Recipient
Miss Beechaum graduated from Richmond Community High School. She plans to major in Nursing at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Dylan Bencivengo, $1,000 Scholarship Recipient
Mr. Bencivengo graduated from Prince George High School. He plans to attend James Madison University and major in Political Science.

Message from the CEO: Happy to be Serving Our Community

After the many challenges we’ve all experienced in the last year, we are so excited to once again be able to participate in community events! We have been thrilled to host or attend several events recently, and look forward to more opportunities in the coming months. Look for us out and about in the community!

Shred Day & Food Drive

It was great to be able to host a shred event again, and see so many of our members and community! Gone 4 Good shredded a total of 15,611 pounds of documents, and we collected 64 boxes (about 3,000 pounds) of non-perishable food for local food banks.

Pennies for Patients Donation

The annual “Pennies for Patients” campaign for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, hosted by Harrison Elementary in Prince George, brings all coin donations to Homebase Credit Union to be counted. Donations were down a bit from previous years, so we were happy to add $100 to their total.

Fort Lee Resiliency Fair

We attended the Fort Lee Army Community Service Resiliency Fair on May 12 to share all we have to offer to the Fort Lee community.

Prince George High School Movie Night

We’re a proud sponsor of the outdoor movie night initiative at Prince George High School. It’s a fun and creative way for students to learn business skills, while offering the community an evening of entertainment!

Congratulations to our Sweepstakes Winners!

Our Enrich Financial Wellness Sweepstakes ran from April through June and enjoyed great participation! We were so happy to present $500 prizes to Tricia Riggs and Jessica Ingram. Stay tuned for news on our June winner!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

We’re thrilled to be sponsoring the Tri-City Chili Peppers, playing at Shepherd Stadium in Colonial Heights. If you catch a game, there’s a good chance you may see some of our staff members there as well!
