Our Story

Homebase Credit Union (formerly Fort Lee Federal Credit Union) has a rich history of positively impacting the lives of generations of families. The credit union began in 1952, as a savings and loan service for Fort Gregg-Adams employees and their immediate families.

Over the years, we increased our product selection and expanded our service areas:

In 2006, we opened our doors to the Tri-Cities area, allowing us to provide affordable financial solutions not only to Fort Gregg-Adams, but to residents and workers in communities surrounding the installation.
In October 2019, we expanded our field of membership to include 14 counties and four cities throughout Central Virginia. This wider field of membership allows us to better fulfill our mission of building a stronger community by offering a full-service financial alternative to a larger area.
In July 2022, we changed our name to Homebase Credit Union. Our new name makes it clear to eligible members, even those without a connection to Fort Gregg-Adams, that they are welcome here.
